Flying a German ice hockey team for the IIHF World Championship
In May 2021, we were asked to fly a German ice hockey team to Latvia for the IIHF World Championship. The client had a limited budget, but desired a new aircraft to transport a group of 42 passengers and three tonnes of luggage.
Our team had a limited window to find a cost-effective solution that could accommodate the requested payload.
Our Solution
Route: Nuremberg > Riga
Aircraft: Airbus A220-300
We kept costs down by sourcing an Airbus A220-300 from an operator based in Latvia. The aircraft was the correct size for the requested payload and suited the client’s needs for a modern aircraft. Despite several logistical obstacles, including airline delays and language barriers, our brokers quickly and efficiently resolved every issue, meaning the client could focus on preparing for the tournament.
