Flying a gamer back from Las Vegas
In October 2022, a Canadian gamer asked us to arrange a round-trip charter to Las Vegas, where he and a group of friends were attending a music festival and live-streaming from local casinos. When a grounded aircraft threatened to disrupt the return flight, we needed to come up with an alternative solution fast to get the group home.
Our Solution
Route: Lake Simcoe > Las Vegas > Toronto
Aircraft: Bombardier Challenger 850/Global 5000
Knowing the client had a fear of flying and preferred to travel on planes with heavier cabins, we quickly negotiated a great charter rate on a Challenger 850. The group were returning during a weekend, so we arranged special approval for an out-of-hours customs agent to process them at the airport in Lake Simcoe.
When the aircraft was grounded days before the return flight, we upgraded the group to a Global 5000 but were unable to secure customs clearance for the replacement jet. Rather than rescheduling the return flight to arrive back in Lake Simcoe before the weekend, the client opted to depart as scheduled and land in Toronto.
The Finer Details
Available 24/7: When requesting this charter, the regular client texted our broker at midnight and we sent over several options for him to look over when he woke up the next morning.
Extra Touches: We ensured this charter was fully tailored to the customer’s personal preferences, stocking the aircraft with the group’s favourite drinks, bespoke inflight catering, fresh flowers, branded cookies and even a custom-made poker set.
Buying Power: When the original jet we’d chartered was grounded, we were quickly able to find a back-up aircraft the client would be comfortable flying in. This may not have been possible if the flight had been booked directly through the operator.
