Flying a college women’s lacrosse team to a tournament in Massachusetts
A university in Virginia asked us to charter a return flight to transport their women’s lacrosse team to a tournament in Massachusetts.
With an odd number of passengers and just 72 hours until the players were due to compete, we sprung into action to come up with a budget-friendly solution that would get them there in time.
Our Solution
Routes: Richmond > Westfield > Richmond
Aircraft: Two Embraer EMB-120s
Our experienced team quickly sourced two possible solutions for the group of 37 passengers. It proved difficult to secure a crew at such short notice for the first option of a 50-seater aircraft, so the client opted for the more cost-effective alternative of splitting the team between two 30-seater planes. The original brief was to land at Bradley International Airport, but we suggested the quieter Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport due to its proximity to the tournament venue.
The Finer Details
Rapid Response: We were able to present the client with a viable solution within 30 minutes of receiving the request.
Local Knowledge: Our unrivalled expertise meant we were able to re-route the charter to a less busy and better-placed airport than the one suggested by the client.
