An incentive trip with a surprise destination
We’ve arranged hundreds of incentive charters over the years, but it’s not often the passengers have no idea where they’re going! A MICE agency made the unusual request to help fly a hedge fund company’s incentive group from London to Lapland while keeping the destination a secret from passengers, who thought they were heading to a beach in Bulgaria. When an issue with flight permits threatened their plans, we needed to quickly find an alternative aircraft fast without giving away the surprise.
Our Solution
Route: London > Rovaniemi > London
Aircraft: Embraer E190
Our team sourced a suitable solution within two days of the request coming in, but the operator didn’t have permission to fly it into and out of the UK.
Undeterred, we reached out to another airline partner and negotiated the charter of an even larger aircraft at no extra cost. The narrow-bodied Embraer E190 had space for the large group and could fly to Lapland without restrictions.
As planned, the passengers had no idea where they were going when they arrived at the airport. Their destination was revealed after boarding the flight and they were greeted in snowy Lapland with ski suits!
