Moving grounded post office shipments during the Covid-19 pandemic
In 2020, a passenger airline asked us to help them lease a cargo aircraft for 13½ months on behalf of their national post office.
With long-haul and transatlantic cargo flights grounded globally during the Covid-19 pandemic, the aircraft was urgently needed to move shipments between the post office’s European base, New York and Asia.
Our Solution
Route: Europe > United States and Asia
Aircraft: Airbus A330-200P2F
Air Charter Service’s leasing team had been working with our cargo division throughout 2020, helping to source additional aircraft as demand increased when scheduled services were suspended during the pandemic. This meant our experts were familiar with the cargo market, and they quickly sourced an auxiliary freighter that we were marketing for an existing supplier. The aircraft was available for the required period and had capacity to carry the client’s large shipments.
